Saint Simons Christian School is an independent, private, Christian school that was established in 1994. The 2011-12 school year marks our 18th year of serving families of the Glynn County, GA.
Originally the school was founded by Golden Isles Presbyterian Church and was called The Whitefield School, after the 18th century Christian, George Whitefield, whose passion for children led him to open the Bethesda Home for Boys in Savannah, GA in 1740.
In the spring of 2007 the school became an independent school led by an independent school board. In the spring of 2008 the school board hired Karl Graustein to serve as Headmaster of the school. And in the summer of 2009 the school changed its name to Saint Simons Christian School and moved to a more central location on St. Simons Island. In the spring of 2011 the school purchased the school property. In June 2011 we achieved a higher level of accreditation and became fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
