5th Grade Teacher

Description

Saint Simons Christian School, located on St. Simons Island, GA, in beautiful coastal Georgia, is seeking a 5th-grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  This assignment would include teaching a self-contained classroom of 5th-grade students.  Class sizes run between 18-20 students.  General responsibilities would include executing the curriculum for all children, giving aid to those students who are struggling with the curriculum, and enriching the learning environment for those who are accelerating beyond the curriculum. Weekly specials for 5th grade include PE twice a week and art, computers, and music once a week.  Other duties include weekly lunch and recess duties as well as attending all staff meetings and other required school events.  The candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  The candidate must also show a passion for teaching and for pouring spiritual truths into their young students. 

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience.  SSCS uses a step and column salary scale.  At this time, SSCS does not provide health insurance to its teachers, but we do offer healthcare reimbursement accounts (HRAs) that can be used to offset some healthcare expenses.

Director of Advancement

Description

The Director of Advancement (DOA), in coordination with the Headmaster and school board, establishes and facilitates goals, strategies, priorities, and outcomes that provide resources for the organization.  The DOA is to bring cohesion to Advancement efforts and is responsible for the achievements of the team.  The DOA manages team functions by assigning responsibilities to team members and managing an approved budget. The position’s role means that the DOA is to build relationships and promote a Kingdom-giving mindset amongst staff and patrons.  By driving acquisition, cultivation, and retention measurements, the DOA will oversee the following campaigns over time: annual planned giving, capital, and endowment.  This is accomplished through relationship-building efforts, fundraisers, foundations, public relations, and communication efforts.

Qualifications

 Relationship minded, Kingdom driven, task oriented servant leader, and generous giver.  Additional qualifications are 3+ years experience in fundraising, knowledge of donor management systems, demonstrated excellence in management and organization.  Bachelor’s degree preferred

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience.
